We’ve built a life between NYC and LA, spent years chasing waves in Central America, and disappeared every winter in search of fresh snow – so you wouldn’t have been wrong to expect a remote destination wedding. But no matter how far we’ve gone, we still call Australia home.

After 10 years (so soon? too soon?), we figured we’d do it our way – a progressive celebration through two of Australia’s most iconic destinations. We’ll be warming up in Byron Bay before bringing it home to Sydney, where the real party begins.

Pack your best dancing shoes and your SPF 50 – we can’t wait to celebrate with you. See you in the sunburnt country!

BYRON BAY, NSW

December 22nd-26th, 2025

For our international friends, we’ll be settling into holiday mode (and catching waves) in one of our favorite places – Byron Bay.* A long lunch on the 23rd for those who can make it – consider it a warm-up for what’s to come.

*Also the place where Matthew shocked Nina (and the world) by proving after all these years that he is, in fact, an excellent planner.

SYDNEY, NSW

December 28th, 2025

We’ll officially be kicking things off in true coastal chic style with a late lunch that rolls into golden hour. Expect a few drinks, a few toasts, and maybe even a little dancing.

SYDNEY, NSW

December 29th, 2025

The main event. We’ll be raising our glasses at Bennelong, Sydney Opera House – because what better place to throw a party?

SYDNEY, NSW

December 30th, 2025

For those keen to debrief (or just in need of good coffee and company), we’ll be posting up at a beach for flat whites, acai bowls, and a swim. If the mood strikes, a cheeky arvo session may be on the cards.

A little more on Australia

If you can stretch the out-of-office a little longer (as we are known to do), you may as well make the most of being on the other side of the world. Here are some of Nina & Matthew’s favorites – from jaw-dropping beaches to wild landscapes you won’t find anywhere else.

Tasmania – Hobart, Freycinet National Park, Wineglass Bay, and Bruny Island. Save yourself the trip to New Zealand and discover where Nina grew up instead! Rugged coastlines, incredible food, and some of the freshest air in the world.

Ningaloo Reef & Rottnest Island (WA) – Sure, it’s on the other side of the world (or at least Australia), but swimming with whale sharks in Ningaloo and lounging on some of the most beautiful beaches on earth makes it worth it.

The Whitsundays – Postcard-perfect islands, unreal snorkeling, and Qualia if you’re in the mood for a real treat. Just a heads-up – it’s wet season, so expect a little tropical drama.

Hyams Beach – An easy road trip from Sydney to a beach so stunning it looks photoshopped.

Uluru, Litchfield & Kakadu National Parkin the NT – If you can handle the heat, these are some of Australia’s most special places. But if December’s scorching temps sound like a bit much, put this on the list for your next trip.
